Security guard stabbed while confronting shoplifter in Bayers Lake: police – Halifax

Halifax police say a safety guard was despatched to hospital with a stab wound after he confronted an individual he believed to be shoplifting.

Halifax Regional Police say the stabbing occurred at a retail outlet within the first block of Washmill Lake Drive Thursday simply earlier than 4:30 p.m.

Police say the male safety officer confronted a suspect who was stealing merchandise from the shop, at which level the suspect turned on the guard stabbing him within the arm.

He was despatched to hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.

Police are nonetheless searching for the suspect, who ran away from the shop after the stabbing. He’s described as 6 toes tall in his late 20s, carrying blue denims, sneakers and a baseball hat on the time.
