Traveltoo proprietor Neil Wooden says journey brokers have been left in “a mess” after being hit arduous by border closures.
“My revenue is 95 per cent down on the same time last year,” Mr Wooden informed Sky Information host Peta Credlin.
“It’s not just me, it’s a lot of travel agents in the same situation as I am”.
“Not only have agents had no revenue for the last 12 months, they’re still refunding commission for sales that they made in 2019”.
“What a lot of people don’t understand is when you buy a ticket from a travel agent and you cancel the ticket you get a refund – that’s fine – but then the airline sends the agent a bill for the commission, so not only are you not making any money, you’re paying back money you’ve earned the year before”.
“It’s a mess.”
